Projected Ravens 53-man roster

Thursday night was the final audition for many players trying to earn one of the few spots left on the final 53-man roster. The Ravens fell to the Rams 24-21 in the preseason finale. As the Ravens now prepare for the regular season kickoff, here is the 53-man roster I predict Coach Harbaugh will bring with him to Denver.

Discuss your thoughts on the roster here, on our message board.

New additions are denoted in bold. Players in red are my projected inactives as the team can dress just 45 players.

QB-Joe Flacco, Tyrod Taylor
RB- Ray Rice, Bernard Pierce, Bobby Rainey
FB- Vonta Leach, Kyle Juszczyk (4)
TE- Ed Dickson, Dallas Clark, Billy Bajema
WR- Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones, Brandon Stokley, Marlon Brown (UD), Tandon Doss, Laquan Williams
LT- Bryant McKinnie, Ricky Wagner (5)
LG- Kelechi Osemele, Jah Reid
C- Gino Gradkowski, A.Q. Shipley
RG- Marshall Yanda, Jah Reid
RT- Michael Oher, Ricky Wagner

DT- Arthur Jones, Brandon Williams (3)
NT- Haloti Ngata, Terrence Cody
DE – Chris Canty, Marcus Spears
Rush LB- Terrell Suggs, Pernell McPhee
Sam LB – Elvis Dumervil, Courtney Upshaw, John Simon (4)
Mike LB- Daryl Smith, Albert McClellan, Nigel Carr
Will LB – Josh Bynes, Arthur Brown (2)
CB- Lardarius Webb, Corey Graham (Nickel), Jimmy Smith, Chykie Brown, Marc Anthony (7)
SS- James Ihedigbo, Matt Elam (1), Anthony Levine
FS- Michael Huff, Omar Brown

K- Justin Tucker
P- Sam Koch
LS- Morgan Cox

PUP –Jameel McClain (Spinal cord bruise)
Suspended – Asa Jackson (Suspended 8 gms), Christian Thompson (Suspended 4 gms)
IR- Dennis Pitta (Dislocated hip), Ryan Jensen (6) (Broken Foot), Kapron Lewis-Moore (6) (ACL), Adrian Hamilton (Wrist), Deonte Thompson (Foot)*

*Speculating this is where Deonte Thompson winds up.

Cuts – QB - Caleb Hanie, Dayne Christ – No surprise here.

RBAnthony AllenDelone Carter - Allen coughed up the football once. Carter was a non-factor. Bobby Rainey with 2 impressive TD runs stole the show from these two guys.

TE - Matt Furstenburg (UD) – Two key drops in the final drive. I know it’s preseason, but for these guys its their only chance. Matt just didn’t make the best of his. The potential is there as we hope he makes it to the practice squad.

WR –  Aaron Mellete (7) - I want to see him make it over Doss. But Tandon Doss had a nice game tonight, and I think gets the edge because of tenure. Hopefully like Furstenburg, he is retained as well.

DTDeangelo Tyson – Theres just not enough room. If it was a 54 man roster, he would be on it.

LB – Brandon Copeland (UD) - Between he and Nigel Carr, Carr had the better game tonight.

S –  Brynden Trawick (UD) - Between he and Omar Brown, Brown was much better making some nice tackles and forcing a fumble.
