According to the Baltimore Sun, the Ravens are unlikely to trade for Boldin

Ravens’ GM Ozzie Newsome does not have a history of giving into the demands of others, so if he has deemed that the asking price for Boldin is too high, I doubt we see him change his mind.

For the record, I agree with the thinking that a 1st and a 3rd, plus the knowledge that you would have to redue Boldin’s contract is too much.

Within the next year plus, the Ravens will be attempting to resign Suggs, Ngata, Clayton, and Gaither…. An extension of Boldin’s current deal would only make things more difficult.

There has been a lot of message board conjecture about McGahee, or Heap going back to Arizona with picks. You could make the case for either player helping Arizona, but I would imagine their primary interest is picks. From a Raven perspective, the costs for McGahee would accelerate against their salary-cap, if McGahee was traded.

You want and need to get Flacco some weapons, but I am not convinced that trading for a guy entering his 7th year in the league, and missed significant time the last two seasons; is the best use of resources.
