6 innings of scoreless ball in a Minor League Spring Training game yesterday.

Bergesen has had a strong Spring… I would have no problem with him going to AAA, and would want him to – if that meant the difference of losing a Penn, or Pauley to waivers….. but Bergesen basically is what he is.

He will never overwhelm you with his stuff… he is going to be a guy that relies on control, and his ability to pitch ahead in the account.

The O’s figure to have a strong defense this year, which is something a guy like Bergesen who pitches to contact, can take advantage of.

His biggest problems in AA last year, was his limited K rate, and his troubles against lefties.

I would imagine that at the Major League level, he will occassionally be hit very hard with his fringe-stuff, and him being consistently around the plate.

Still, if he can give you regular innings with control – he can help.
