Brandon Waring was obtained last December from Cincinnati with Justin Turner, and Ryan Freel for Ramon Hernandez.

The package of players brought-back to Baltimore, was put together by Wayne Krivsky, the Special Asst. to the President of Baseball Operations (Andy MacPhail), and the former Reds GM.

Waring turned 23 on January 2nd, so he is a bit-older than you would like, but you can not deny his production.

For the year, Waring has a .882 OPS, batting .279, with 21 homers, 32 doubles, 77 rbi, 44 walks, and 103 k’s.

Since the All-Star break, he has a .907 OPS. In 40 August at-bats, he has a 1.279 OPS, which includes 4 homers and 5 doubles.

Waring has received time at 3rd and 1st this year with Frederick.

A player that is older than the majority of players he is playing against, has to be viewed with skepticism. Waring will have to prove himself against higher competetion. You would love to see him be able to keep playing this Winter, before heading to AA Bowie in 2010.
