During the past two seasons, Brian Roberts has seen his numbers decrease during the 2nd-half of the season.

After a mediocre 1st-half, there was plenty of concern of watching his play fall further off to end the year.

With 47 games left in the 2009 season, Roberts may again experience a 2nd-half slide. However, since the All-star break, Roberts has done everything in his power to end that trend.

Roberts ended the 1st-half with a .772 OPS, and a .273 batting average.

In the 2nd-half, Roberts is batting .346, and has a .921 OPS. With 14 doubles (1 homer) in 107 at-bats, he has a .505 2nd-half slugging percentage.

For the year, he has 43 doubles ( 1 more than the total doubles he had in 2007 ), and also has 9 homers which equals his 2008 totals.

His base-running has been lazy at-times this year, but his overall play is better than has been advertised.
