Prior to the NFL Combine, Clemson DE DaQuan Bowers was ranked Number 1 overall on many Mock Drafts. Since that point he has been falling due to questions surrounding his knee. After postseason knee surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus, he only lifted at Combine. Questions about his health were still unanswered at his Pro day.

On the eve of the NFL Draft, ESPN analyst Mel Kiper has suggested that if Bowers did not got to Jacksonville at 16 overall, he could fall into the 20’s.

The CBS Sports Mock Drafts updated Monday have Bowers going 20th overall to Tampa: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock (Rob Rang from CBS has the Ravens selecting DT, Muhammad Wilkerson from Temple, while Chad Reuter has Baltimore taking OLB, Brooks Reed from Arizona.)

Sports Illustrated’s Don Banks’ updated Mock Draft from today (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/don_banks/04/27/nfl-mock-draft/index.html) has Bowers going 17th to New England. (Banks has the Ravens selecting CB, Jimmy Smith from Colorado.)

I doubt the Ravens would be willing to trade-up to 17th or 20th overall, but if somehow Bowers is still there at pick 23 or 24, I think that would be something Baltimore considers.
