Interesting start for Hernandez today.

Hernandez has made 3 consecutive starts of at least 6 innings. He is coming off his first outing in NY, and gets to make his first apperance in Fenway today.

Was able to battle out of trouble against NY in the 1st, and allow only a solo homer to the Yankees overall.

In 4 consecutive starts Hernandez has allowed 1 homer, and at-least 2 walks.

Facing a HOF in Smoltz who is still feeling his way back, and will be making his 2nd 2009 appearance vs Baltimore. Smoltz – and the rest of the RedSox – are the veteran types who smell blood in the water and will be going for the sweep.

If Hernandez can have another start today, where he keeps the O’s in the game over 6 innings, that will be impressive.

All the more so, when you remember that Bergesen, and Hernandez are not the same caliber of prospect as Tillman, Matusz, and Arrieta.
