Last week I argued that Trembley should be retained, unless the organization was prepared to hire a veteran manager who had experienced past-success.

Tonight, it has been announced that the Orioles will be bringing-back Trembley for the 2010 season.

I agree with this decision.

Allow Trembley to return with a healthy team, and expectations of winning-games, and see how the players respond.

When the 2010 team is assembled, there are going to be enough long-term pieces in place, that winning games becomes a priority.

I continue to expect the 2010 O’s to win 81-85 games.

Even if the O’s can not sign Lackey (or choose not to pursue), there is no reason why a rotation of Matusz, Tillman, Bergesen, Guthrie, and Arrieta can not keep the O’s competitive next-year.

I believe that Uehara, Hernandez, Berken, and Mickolio will help the bullpen.

I believe that Roberts, and Scott will closely equate their 2009 seasons. I believe that Markakis, Jones, Wieters, Reimold, and Pie should all be better next-year, then they were this year.

I think the organization continuity of Trembley returning is a good-decision.

I look forward to seeing him start a full-season, with the aforementioned talent.

What I will do, is hold him accountable for dramatically improved results by the end of next-year.
