At AA Bowie last night, Liz went 7 scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits, 0 bb’s, with 8 k’s.
This leaves his 2009 AA numbers as:
3-1, 2.05 era, 44 innings, 35 hits, 10 er, 1 homer, 12 bb’s, 38 k’s.

If Tillman gets the call to the O’s next week, it might be Liz (and not Matusz) who replaces Tillman in the AAA rotation.
Liz turns 26 in October… at that age, with the options ahead of him, he only gets another chance at the O’s rotation with a rash of injuries. I would not count him out as a guy that could help in long-relief, or even in a set-up capacity.

Will be interesting to see how the O’s use him next year in AAA. Do they have him starting and continuing to get innings, or do they make him a closer and let him learn there?

He pitched 2 games for the O’s this year and was murdered, allowing 10 er, in 1.1 innings. I was very disappointed for him.

In the Minors this year, he has pitched 73 innings, allowed 78 hits, 3 homers, 22 walks, with 63 k’s. Still has a big-time arm that could help you in some capacity at some-point.

Overall, he seems like a guy that will eventually be traded as a 3rd or 4th part (throw-in) of a package for something bigger.
