The Terps who are 14-8 overall, 3-5 in the ACC will travel to Atlanta to face the 10-10 overall, 1-6 in the ACC Yellow Jackets.
MD won the previous match-up January 10th in College Park 68 to 61.
In that game, the Terps shot extremely poor – 23 of 73 from the floor, 5 for 26 from 3, and 17 for 23 from the line.
MD was able to win, because they competed on the boards (losing 45-33), and forced an incredible 28 turnovers, with 12 steals.
Hayes had a big 2nd half, and finished with 17pts. Mosley had 10pts, 4boards, and 3steals off the bench.
Georgia Tech has two talented post-players (Aminu, and Lawal) and the Terps were able to hold each to 14 points.
The Yellow Jackets are coming off an impressive home-victory against Wake Forest, and play at Florida State tonight.
Road victories are always hard to come by, but MD needs to find a way to win.
With a win Sunday night, MD will come home to face Virginia Tech on Valentine’s Day, with an opportunity to get back to 500 in conference play.
In the January 10th game, the Terps did not get a contribution from either Tucker or Gregory. With Tucker’s game Tuesday against UNC, you can expect him to receive significant minutes Sunday night.
Will be interesting to see if Mosley can follow-up his 19pts Tuesday, with a similar effort in Atlanta.
