The NCAA Selection show is not until Sunday night, but make no mistake – MD will be in the tournament when the field is announced.
What a win tonight by the MD Terrapins.
The Terps played a team with a front-line as big, and strong, and athletic as there is in college basketball… that outrebounded them by 19 in a match-up 9 days ago.. and tonight MD wins on the boards 43-34.
In the March 3rd game, MD managed to get the line twice.
Tonight, the Terps finished 21 of 26 from the line.
Vasquez finished the game 22pts, 9 assists, 8 rebounds…
Mosley had 12pts, and 6 boards… Neal had 10pts, and 6 boards… Milbourne had 8pts, and 11 boards, Gregory 6pts, and 6 boards… Hayes had 11 points… Bowie had 5pts, and 3 boards..
All of those players played hard, and deserve a ton of credit for their efforts…. but this game came down to Gary Williams vs Dino Gaudio, and with all respect to Mr. Gaudio, Gary showed again why he deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame.
Seeing MD play a zone-defense for long-stretches of the game, was a sight to see.
I am estatic for Gary Williams and this group of players, and looking forward to the rest of this weekend.
