After a day-off Monday, the Baltimore Orioles are back in-action tonight against the New York Mets.

The O’s are 27-36 overall, and in last-place in the American League East.

The Orioles won their last two games against Atlanta, to move to 19-16 overall at home.

The Mets are 32-29 overall, and in 2nd-place in the National League East.

New York has gone 4-6 in their last 10 games, and are 14-18 on the road.

The scheduled pitching matchups are:

6/16: Mike Pelfrey vs Guthrie
6/17: Tim Redding vs Uehara
6/18: Livan Hernandez vs Berken

Pelfrey was a 2005 1st round pick out of Wichita State.

For the year, he is 4-2, with a 4.68 era. He has pitched 65.1 innings, and allowed 72 hits, 24 walks, with just 28 k’s.

Hard to believe his k-rate can be as low as it is, with his level of pure stuff.

The O’s get the benefit of facing New York, with the Mets not at full strength.

John Maine, JJ Putz, Jose Reyes, and Carlos Delgado are each on the DL and trying to get back.

Oriole fans will get a chance to see All-Stars David Wright, Carlos Beltran… former All-Star Gary Sheffield, and up and coming prospect Fernando Martinez.

The O’s get the benefit of missing Santana during this series. Baltimore will try and avoid being down in a game late, and having to face Closer Francisco Rodriquez.

Two out of three will be a solid series for Baltimore.
