Thoughts:

1) With Sabathia on the mound Monday, would expect Wigginton in the Opening Day lineup over Scott.
2) The Yankee lineup without Arod is only talented, not ridiculous.
3) I think the insertion of Gardner into the Yankees everyday lineup is interesting… they have clearly lacked a CF that can go and get the ball the last several years… also inserts some fresh legs to their team…
4) Damon has the weakest arm in Major League baseball… even in LF, you can take advantage of him.
5) I’d feel better about the April 9th matchup with Rich Hill on the mound for the O’s….
6) I like the O’s bullpen better overall 1-7… the Yankees would be better served with Joba as their set-up, and Hughes as their 5th starter.
7) Guessing Swisher, and Cabrera are not happy with their current roles.
8) Tough spring for Guthrie, made harder with the WBC… 6 innings, 4 earned runs or less would be a decent start.
9) Might not be totally accurate, but my perception is that Sabathia has struggled in big games (thinking of his recent playoff starts)… will be interested to see how he handles his first start in the Yanks road grey’s… with the contract looming overhead… will not take much for the NY tabloids to turn.
10) Uehara has a ton of experience… but it is a tough spot for his first MLB start to be against NY in the 2nd game of the year… The first night game is traditionally not well attended… usually a cool, wet night… should expect all of that, plus a sizeable Yankee contingent… if he can get past that and be effective, that would be a strong statement.

11) Teixeira – http://baltimoresportsandlife.blogspot.com/2009/03/what-teixeira-should-and-should-not-be.html
