With 7 runs scored in the bottom of the 7th inning, the Baltimore Orioles lead the LA Angels 16-5.

Felix Pie is 4 for 5, hitting for the cycle, knocking in 4, and raising his average to .254.

Upon hitting a triple in the bottom of the 7th to gain the cycle, the LA Manager Mike Scioscia took obvious offense to Pie celebrating.

There are a number of unwritten laws in baseball that make sense, taking offense to a player celebrating hitting for the cycle is not one of them.

The O’s have pounded out 19 hits so far, including 3 doubles from Roberts. Jones, Markakis, Huff, Reimold, and Izturis have also doubled.

Baltimore scored 8 of their 16 runs against Angel starter Jered Weaver, who had struck-out 22 batters in his last 2 starts.

The Orioles a few outs away from giving Oriole starter Chris Tillman, his first Major League win.

After walking the first two batters of the game, Tillman settled in against a very capable offense.

Tillman went 6.2 innings, allowing 7 hits, 3 er, 2 bb’s, 1 homer, with 3 k’s.

It was exactly the start the O’s needed to begin this series, and the exact type of start to give confidence to Oriole fans, of what this organization is attempting to accomplish.

Pie’s performance in this game will renew calls from some Oriole fans of their desire to see Scott traded this off-season, moving Reimold to the everyday DH, and Pie taking over LF.
