Mitch Horacek – LHP

The Dartmouth alumnus was selected in the 9th round of the 2013 draft and stands 6’5″ 185 lbs. As a college arm, he displays a good feel on the mound, with signs of strong “pitchability”. That should not be a surprise, considering where he went to college.

FB: 87-89 mph with good command, mild movement.
CH: 78-81 mph with average fade, decent command. Separation from FB is not enough.
CU: 77-79 mph with decent break, could see some more refinement down the road.
Delivery Times: 1.63, 1.59, 1.59, 1.60

Average arm speed, long and deliberate delivery, toes the right side of the rubber. Command is certainly above average, able to work in and out on hitters, but arsenal is average at best.

Thoughts from a scout: “45 FB as a starter. CU 45/50 CH 40/45. Solid command and pitchability.”

Donnie Hart – LHP

Selected in the 27th round in the 2013 draft out of Texas State University. Small statured pitcher at 5’11” 180 lbs. Throws sidearm with some late tail action due to the arm slot. Displayed a great pickoff move.

FB: 84-86 mph with late tail action, plenty of movement
CH: 75-76 mph with average fade, average dip
CU: 73 mph with moderate spin, good “throw me over” pitch.
Delivery Times: 1.50, 1.47, 1.49, 1.46, 1.50

All deception, arsenal is below average, but large movement on his fastball. More of a “change of pace” type.

Dylan Rheault – RHP

Selected in the 19th round of the 2013 draft out of Central Michigan University. A giant, standing at 6’9″, 245 lbs.

FB: 88-91 mph with some life and explosion.
SL: 81-82 mph with some late bite and sweep.

Struggles to find a consistent arm slot and the mechanics are clearly still a work in progress. Nothing surprising from a pitcher this large. A little stiff on his release, but still able to explode his fastball. I could definitely see a tick or two in velocity with some improved mechanics. I don’t see much more growth left in his frame. Not sure whether he flashes a change.
