I had hoped that the Ravens would use their 2nd round pick on Jarron Gilbert DE, San Jose St, or Chase Coffman TE, Missouri, but I think a positive selection was made with Paul Kruger, DE Utah.

Kruger was a QB, before leaving for his Morman mission… converting to DE when he returned. Having that QB back-ground should give Kruger a real understanding of the entire game.

The fact that Kruger left for that Morman mission, means he is probably a bit older than the other prospects, and a bit more mature.

His listed weight is only 255 lbs, and that has to raise concerns about his ability to play DE at the pro-level. Either they think his frame can add weight, or they see him as another J.Johnson, DE/OLB type.

With 16.5 tackles for loss this past-season, I would bet he has outstanding closing speed.

I am excited about adding some depth at DE, especially with the advancing age of Pryce.
