Brandon Snyder and Josh Bell only have 37 combined at-bats in the Arizona Fall League, so you can only read so much into their numbers. A limited sample-size, is a limited sample-size after-all.

That said, they are both producing, and that beats the alternative.

In Snyder’s 22 at-bats, he has 9 hits, including 1 homer, and 1 double, for a 1.049 OPS. He has totaled 2 walks, and 4 k’s.

In Bell’s 15 at-bats, he has 8 hits, including 3 doubles, and 1 triple, for a 1.478 OPS. He has totaled 3 walks, and 2 k’s.

This will be the last impression these players can make on the O’s Front-office prior to the start of Free Agency, and the trading season. I am confident that the O’s are not going to pursue anyone that could block Bell long-term at 3rd. The O’s will likely go with Wigginton for at-least 1/2 of 2010, with the hope that Bell goes to AAA and produces over the course of 250-300 at-bats. If that occurs, you could see Bell at 3rd for the O’s after the 2010 All-Star break.

Snyder is in a different situation. The O’s are under pressure to improve. There are potential options available at 1st, through trade if not Free Agency. Based on how he finished his year at AAA, I am sure the O’s want to see him go back to Norfolk to start 2010. If he starts to hit there, like he has in the HWL, Carolina, AFL, and Eastern Leagues; he will get a chance in the Majors. That is, as long as a long-term option has not been obtained in-front of him, or unless he was actually used as part of a trade himself.
