Steven Johnson celebrated his return to the Orioles organization, with his first start 2010 start at AA Bowie last-night.

In 5 innings of work, Johnson allowed 5 hits, 0 er, 2 bb’s, with 6 k’s.

It was a shrewd move by MacPhail to leave Johnson off the 40 man roster, and believe he would have to eventually be returned to Baltimore. It paid-off, and Johnson could become a valuable part of a larger trade package this summer.

One thought on Bowie SS Pedro Florimon. If the O’s have any internal thoughts that he could replace Izturis in 2011, they should have Florimon bat higher than 9th. If there is any chance he could be an option for the O’s next-year, he needs to get as many AA at-bats as possible this year.
