If the O’s were unable to obtain a legitimate multi-year option for SS, would you be opposed to Tejada returning to Baltimore for a 3rd time?

He has played SS for the Padres since being traded. He has a .766 OPS as a Padre (.702 overall, .860 vs. LHP).

Fangraphs.com shows his UZR / 150 at 11.9 as a SS this year (was -11.2 in ’09).

If the options were Tejada for 1 year, or Izturis for 1 year… who do you choose?

To me, even if you believe Izturis is not the .554 OPS player he has been in 2010 (and is closer to the .620 OPS guy he has been for his career), I take Tejada.

Yes, it is not surprising Tejada is producing better in a lesser league; but it is also not surprising that his play improved playing with a team in contention. National League or not, he is playing SS everyday and batting 3rd for a team going to the playoffs. Why could he not play SS and bat 7th or 8th for us?
