The University of Maryland’s Men’s Basketball Team got their latest shot in the arm this morning, with the received verbal of Romelo Trimble – a 6’3, 180 lb guard from Bishop O’Connell in Arlington, VA.
JP Finlay from CSN Baltimore had a good story yesterday on Trimble yesterday, which you can read here.
Rivals.com has Trimble as a 4 star recruit, and 59th overall in the Class of ’14.
Scout.com lists him as a 4 star SG, 57th overall.
ESPN.com lists him as a 4 star PG.
247 Sports lists him a 4 star PG.
With Trimble, currently the 2014-15 Terps look like*
Guards: Faust (Sr) Allen (Jr), Peters (Soph), Trimble (Freshman)
Wings: Wells (Sr), Layman (Jr)
Bigs: Len (Sr), Smotrycz (Sr), Cleare (Jr), Mitchell (Jr), Dodd (Soph)
*With 2 remaining scholarships available. Of course, nobody expects Len back for his Junior year, let alone his Senior year, so there will likely be at-least 3 more scholarships available.
Here is a YouTube video of Trimble being interviewed at the 2012 adidas Nations Camp in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Besides getting another elite talent, the biggest benefit of the addition of Trimble, is what was mentioned in Finlay’s article. Trimble is a member of Curtis Malone’s DC Assault AAU Program. Locking into that pipeline is huge for the Terrapins.

“Bigs: Len (Sr), Cleare (Jr), Mitchell (Jr), Dodd (Soph)”
Evan Smotrycz says hi.
Ahh, good point Chip. For some reason I had in my head that Smotrycz would only be eligible for ’13-’14, not also ’14-’15.
Made the edit, thanks!
