MASN is reporting that Josh Bell has been promoted from AAA Norfolk to replace Luke Scott who has moved to the DL:

I will like this move regardless, but will like it more if the decision has been made to move Tejada to SS.

At AAA Bell has a .765 OPS with 10 homers, 24 doubles, and 44 rbi. The other numbers that jump out at you are the limited walks (18) and the k’s (75).
The switch hitter is still learning how to handle Lefties, but should be able to help right away against RHP.

If Bell becomes the regular 3rd baseman here in Baltimore to start July, he can get 3 full-months at this level prior to the end of the year. This will greatly help the team in determining the moves they need to make this off-season.

If he takes over 3rd, and Tejada shifts to SS – it also allows the O’s to consider if they would be willing to have Tejada back as a stop-gap SS in 2011.

EDIT: As it was announced last night that Bell will likely only be up for 5 or 6 games, I guess the question I should have been asking is not where, but for how long will Bell up with the O’s?
