But, if he didn't want Berken to face the lefties, (because he lacks the experience)then it was a waste to use him then for the one batter. You may as well have let Bergensen try and get a double play ball there. The worst case scenario had him giving up a game tying three run homer.

Dave is a guy wed to the "situational match-up" and that's just not going to change even if he chews up his bullpen. Just look at the ninth inning when he has two out, none on and HAS to bring in Castillo to get the third out. Totally unnecessary.
