It has been a busy week for the Terps, both in football and basketball. Here is a recap:

Football

– The Terps picked up a commitment this week from Massachusetts running back Jonathan Thomas. As a junior, he rushed for 1,794 yards on 220 carries. He scored 15 rushing touchdowns and added three receiving touchdowns on nine receptions. Thomas chose Maryland over Arkansas, Boston College and UConn. Thomas becomes the third Terps commitment in 2014.

– One of the Maryland’s prospects Marcus Allen has committed to Penn State. The 6-foot-1 safety from Wise HS in Maryland had offers from 25 schools including Arizona, BC, Clemson, UConn, Duke, Maryland, and Michigan State.

– Kingsway HS running back Ray Lawry picked up an offer this week from Western Michigan. He currently has offers from Maryland, Temple and Old Dominion. The Terps are loaded at the running back position with Wes Brown, Tyler Cierski, Kenny Goins Jr, Albert Reid, Joe Riddle, Brandon Ross, 2013 commit DeAndre Lane and 2014 commit Johnathan Thomas. It would appear that they do not have a need for Lawry

– Friendship Academy CB Jalen Tabor still has the Terps high on his list. He has not narrowed down his list and currently holds over two dozen offers. He holds an offer from Alabama and will be visiting them in June. According to the Tuscaloosa News, he has high interest in Alabama, Tennessee, Vandy, Florida, FSU, LSU and Maryland. He was visited by the Alabama coaching staff earlier this Spring.

– Safety M.J. Stewart from Yorktown HS (Arlington, VA) has the Terps high on his list. He  picked up offers from WVU, Boston College, and Nebraska on Thursday. According to 247sports.com, Stewart could be closing on a decision soon. He has four schools that he continues to mention and is most familiar with, UVA, VT, Maryland, and UNC. The Tar Heels visited on Wednesday.

Basketball

– 2014 hoops prospect Dion Wiley (Potomac HS/ Oxon Hill, MD) has and remains the Terps number one target. He currently leads Team Takeover (9-0 in the ECYB) with 15.6 points per game. Most impressively, Wiley is shooting 50% from the 3-pt line (30-for-60). Wiley has offers from Florida, Georgetown, Miami (FL), N.C. State, Rutgers, Villanova, UVA, and VT.

– According to verbalcommits.com, the Terps offered 2014 power forward Adonis DelaRosa on Friday. The 6-foot-10 product from Christ the King HS in New York.

– According to Rivals.com, four-star 2014 power forward Obi Enechionyia (St. James School/ Springfield,VA)) listed Temple, Miami, Maryland, Indiana and Illinois as the top five schools that are recruiting him the hardest.

– Maryland offered 2016 prospect Harry Giles this week. Giles is a 6-foot-8 power forward from Wesleyan Christian Academy in Winston Salem, NC. He also holds offers from Kentucky, UNC, FSU, Wake, NC State and Ohio State.

– According to the Baltimore Sun, Jared Nickens (Westtown School/ Westtown, PA) picked up an offer this week from Maryland. he holds offers from Creighton, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Penn State, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Wake Forest.

Junior Etou (Bishop O’Connel HS/ Arlington,VA) was one of the Terps 2013 targets. The 6-foot-8 power forward committed to Rutgers this week. He held offers from Clemson, Kansas, Memphis, Miami (FL), and WVU.

Terry Larrier (Phelps School/ Malvern, PA) has an offer from MD and said MD is one of the school recruiting him the hardest. He received the offer this week. The 6-foot-7 small forward holds offers from VCU, WVU, Texas, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Providence, Pittsburg, Penn State, Minnesota, Miami (FL), Maryland, Memphis, USC, St. Joseph’s, Robert Morris, Manhattan and he picked up an offer today from Florida.

– St. John’s (DC) point guard Tre Campbell who had picked up a surprise offer last week from Coach Turgeon committed to Georgetown on Thursday according to ESPN.
