The Baltimore Orioles have been historically bade during the initial 54 games of the 2010 season. 54 games represents exactly 1/3 of a 162 game year.
During these remaining 108 games, I still believe the O’s are capable of adding another 55 to 60 wins, which would have them finish 2010 with 70-75 wins.
For that to happen, they need to get Roberts and Gonzalez back by Month-end (with Pie quickly there after), and augment from within. (Reimold, Arrieta, Bell)
This team is better immediately if Reimold replaces Atkins, Arrieta replaces Hendrickson, and Bell moves Tejada to SS, Izturis to the bench, and Lugo off the roster.
Ultimately these last 108 games will be about the core of players you have identified as an organization to build around. Markakis, Wieters, Jones, Pie, Reimold, Matusz, Tillman, Arrieta, Bergesen, Hernandez. Their development during the remainder of the season is what to watch for.
