He was able to get a few minor league innings in, to end 2008… should be ready to go for 2009… Trembley has said he wants him to start, to avoid the wear and tear of a relief pitcher.
I would like to see him start for at least the first-half… he was a former Baseball America Top 100 prospect, the Texas league Pitcher of the Year in 2006… I think he will be a pretty solid back-end starter as he can consistently keep the ball down and get grounders…
If by June/July his arm is strong, but it is apparent he has trouble getting through line-ups 3 times with essentially only 2 pitches… he can go back to the pen.
I am hoping to see some improvement in his control, and a K rate that more closely resembles his AA, and AAA numbers..
