Gary Williams spoke of Jordan being nominated for the McDonald’s HS All-American game (with 1500 kids).

“That’s the ultimate judge of players — whether they make McDonald’s All-American or not,” Williams said. “So hopefully he’ll make it. He had 50 the other night. He broke his school record for scoring. He’s one of those big guys that he didn’t have that much attention going into the recruiting period in the summer. But I saw him play six or seven times during that July period, and he was a better player everytime I saw him play.”
Couple of things you can take from that quote… first that was a bit an inside joke from Gary about his feelings on McDonald All-Americans (the National Championship team had none)… and second, thats Gary saying he saw Jordan Williams 6 or 7 times in July…
That is Gary doing his job, and he should not be commended for that… but it also directly contradicts those that say he has not recently been active at all recruiting.
