I do not want to ‘oversell’ the performance, but tonight is an example of what is needed from Jones, Markakis, and Wieters to compete on the road in the American League East.
Going to the 9th (with Wieters out of the game) they are a combined 4 for 12 with a homer, and 2 doubles. This is a good-night. Not a reason to jump up and down, but the type of production that should be expected, and is required from the trio.
They are the core of this team now, and for the foreseeable future. For the O’s to compete day-in and day-out, the three of them have to produce.
