The Baltimore Orioles celebrated their first appearance in Target Field, with a 2-0 victory over Minnesota.
Oriole starter Brad Bergesen had his best start of the year, as he held the Twins scoreless over his 6.2 innings of work. He had zero k’s, but allowed just 6 hits, and 2 walks. Bergesen took advantage of the low strike-zone tonight, and forced 15 grounders with his sinker.
After relieving Bergesen in the 7th, Ohman walked Morneau to load the bases. Credit Ohman for striking-out Thome to end the inning.
Was great to see Uehara back. His ability to throw strikes and pitch multiple innings will greatly help the pen.
You have to say that Simon is doing a good job at seizing the opportunity.
Of course the Oriole who has best seized an opportunity this season is Wigginton. 10 homers in 87 at-bats is quite a run.
Disappointment of the night would be that Jones was 0 for 4 after a night-off (making him 0 for his last 12) and that Reimold was 0 for 3, and not able to build off yesterday in NY.
