We are certainly some-time away from the start of the 2010-11 College Basketball season, but never to early for a Top 25 preview.

Here is one from Yahoo / Rivals.com on May 12th:
http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1083741

Of note to Terrapin fans:

Duke #1
Pittsburgh #4 (Maryland could face the Panthers in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament)
Villanova #6 (Maryland likely to face Villanova in Philly)
Temple #11 (Jeff Barker of The Baltimore Sun reported Temple could come to College Park)
Illinois #14 (Maryland could face Illinois in the Coaches vs Cancer Tournament)
Virginia Tech #18
UNC #19

Other teams considered:

Florida State
NCST
Texas (Maryland could face the Longhorns in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament)

If Maryland can get both Villanova, and Temple in-conjunction with Penn State from the Big 10, and one of Pittsburgh / Illinois / Texas – it will be a good out-of-conference schedule for the Terps. Grabbing a road win over ‘Nova, or a neutral court win in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament would be huge.

In this poll, Maryland is picked to finish no higher than 6th in the Atlantic Coast Conference. I’m interested to hear what the Terps think about that. Obviously it is going to be adjustment losing 3 very experience Seniors. Still there is plenty to like about a starting 5 of Bowie, Tucker, Mosley, Gregory, Williams – and a bench of Howard, Stoglin, Parker, Padgett, Pankey, Weijs, Palsson, and (Goins?).
