In 21 games in May, Adam Jones has 24 hits in 82 at-bats for a .293 batting average.
He also has an OPS of .740 for the month. While that is still lower than you would like to see, it is not at a range where you can consider sending him down.
As we have been saying all season, he does have to be more patient at the plate. 5 walks vs.38 k’s is inexcusable. That said, he is having better at-bats and it is beginning to bear out in his numbers. You can see him consciously attempting to go to RF. That is a start.
Any current talk or conjecture of sending him back to the Minors is poor.
He is one 10 day hot-streak from being around his expected norms. Look no further than Luke Scott to see how quickly numbers can still change at this time of year.
