From the day Tejada was signed, we have believed he could best help the O’s at SS during the 2010 season. As such, advocating the removal of Izturis from the everyday lineup is not a new thought for us, or many other people around town.

However, with the O’s offense being brutally cold I feel like this should be brought-up again.

Izturis’ defense is simply not good enough to justify his place in a lineup that can not score runs. Izturis has an unbelievably low career OPS of .626 (including a career on-base % of .298). Yet in 2010, Izturis has somehow found a new low as he entered tonight with a OPS of .545 (including an on-base % of .295).

Even if you did not want to promote Bell to take over 3rd (1 hit, 2 walks so far tonight – .297 average his last 10 games) you could move Wigginton to 3rd, with Scott at 1st. Reimold has 2 hits tonight for the 2nd-time in 3 games, and could come back to the Birds as DH.
