There is a lot of good information to be found in message boards…. There are certain posters over-time that become reliable and consistent sources.
They are able to post what they are hearing more freely then the true-reporters, who are required to have sourced their information.
In this case, I am not going to link to the board, or the poster – because they are posting in anonymity – and the more public this information becomes… the more heat they may receive.
If I get an email that it is ok to credit them, I will be glad to link directly to the poster.
The rumor is that Ray has been offered 3yrs $25M from the Ravens with $17M guaranteed. The guaranteed money has been agreed to.
That’s a lot of money to give to Ray… the fact that it is not done, is hard to understand.
With Scott, the rumor is the Jets have made a 5 year offer to at $8.2M per, with $16M guaranteed. The Ravens are apparently offering $7.3M per, with $1M less guaranteed. If things go South with Ray, I think the Ravens do bring Scott back.
Even if you could make the cap numbers work to bring both back, you can not justify doing so.
One of the two needs to return though, to help groom Gooden, Barnes, and McClain.
