Earlier this week the Baltimore Ravens resigned Marshall Yanda. I liked the deal, because it appears they paid Yanda more like a Guard as opposed to a Tackle. While it is probably that Yanda spends the 2011 season again at RT; Yanda profiles better in the interior of the line than he does on the outside.
There is a lot of talk among Ravens fans of who the team might pursue. To me, if the Ravens were prepared to spend major dollars on anyone; it should be RT Tyson Clabo. While Clabo is expected to remain in Atlanta, you could at-least make it harder for the Falcons to retain him. If you added Clabo, you get the benefit of Yanda going back to Guard, and you likely improve the offensive production across the board.
The 6’6, 330 pound Clabo turns 30 this October and was undrafted coming out of Wake Forest in 2004. In 2010, Clabo made his first Pro Bowl. If the dollars are too expensive for Clabo, than I think the Ravens should again think over resigning Gaither.
