In the past week, Hill has thrown 4 seperate times… 25pitches twice, 50 pitches once, and 60 pitches once.

If he started as the 5th starter, he would not have make his first start until April 12th… 3 weeks from today.

The O’s stated after today, they believe that is not enough time.

What they are really saying, is that there are people on the roster they are trying to protect (Penn, Pauley), while carrying players such as Walker, and Baez that really have no business being on the roster.

Hill starting the year on the DL is not the biggest deal… it will allow him to continue to build-up arm strength, and I am confident he will provide regular starts for the O’s this year.

Hill starting the year on the DL, is significant for the complexion of the Opening Day roster though.

I see Hendrickson starting the year in the rotation now, with Walker being the 2nd lefty in the bullpen.
