Guthrie, just back from the WBC, took the mound for the O’s today.
He had a rather unsuccessful 3 2/3 innings… but of greater importance was the fact that he threw 74 pitches.
With two more starts likely prior to Opening Day, he should be ready to give you 100 pitches April 6th.
Liz was allowed to record 1 out, before being pulled. The O’s are clearly preparing to send him to AAA.
Given Liz’s success in AA, and AAA as a starter… what exactly does Liz have to prove in AAA a relief pitcher?
Eaton went 4 innings today, allowing 8 hits, including 3 homers, with 4 k’s and a walk. He has zero-business making the staff, but the organization seems to be heading towards handing him a rotation spot.
Scott Moore hit his 3rd homer of the Spring… but again, he was playing 3rd base……. As the team has not given him any time at SS… there is no way for him to make the roster.
Jolbert Cabrera played SS today, and had 2 more hits… if the team goes with 12 pitchers, and a 4th bench player… have to wonder if Cabrera will beat out Gomez at this point.
