Baltimore had a successful opening week at home, winning 2 of 3 from both NY, and Tampa – but the Orioles have some misgivings about game 3 in each series.
With the opportunity to sweep both series, the Orioles have been crushed in the final game each time.
Today against Tampa, the O’s started newly activated Adam Eaton.
Eaton is on the team for the sole reason of providing innings…. it is hard to provide innings, if you have no chance of being effective.
To his credit, he did have 6 k’s… but allowed 8hits, 2 walks, and 4 er, in 4 innings of work.
In relief, Brian Bass was also bruised up… allowing 7er, 8hits, 1 walk in 3.1 innings.
At best, he is a dime a dozen pitcher, and he has no business being on the team over Matt Albers.
If there were any positives from today, it was the offensive side where Adam Jones had 2 more hits… Pie took another walk, and Andino had a hit in his first start of the year.
