The Orioles have played 3 series so far during the 2009 season, and won them all. Each series a carbon-copy of the last; wins in the first two games, followed by a game 3 blow-out.

In Beantown, that pattern will change at least some-what, as the O’s and Redsox will battle for four games.

After an off-day tomorrow, Baltimore will get their first taste of Fenway in 2009 Friday.

The likely pitching match-ups are:

Friday 4/17 – Guthrie vs Penny
Saturday 4/18 – Eaton vs Beckett (I believe is appealing his recently received 6 game suspension)
Sunday 4/19 – Uehara vs Lester
Monday 4/20 – TBD vs TBD (Quite possible that the O’s recall Bergesen for this start… for Boston, Dice-K would have got the start, but was placed on the DL today).

After winning today in Oakland, the Red Sox are 3-6, and also off tomorrow.

After the beat-down in Texas tonight, the O’s will enter Boston at 6-3.

The off-day tomorrow, will help rest-up the bullpen… but it will still be important for a strong effort from Guthrie Friday. You need him to provide innings to start the series, to help the team the rest of the weekend.
Friday, April 17th is the first day that Wieters can be recalled by the Orioles, and be under organization control through the 2015 season.
