Pitching for Norfolk, Chris Tillman again went 4 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2er, 3 bb’s, with 4 k’s.
Tillman was making his first-professional start as a 21 year old, having celebrated his bday on the 15th.
Being a 21 year-old guy, already in AAA – 2009 has already been a successful year for Tillman.
Even with the state of the back of the Orioles rotation, it would take a sustained run of success for Tillman to join the O’s prior to the All-Star break.
However, if he can start to stretch-out to 6 or 7 innings regularly, limiting his walks, and showing improved fastball command… it is plausible that he could be an Oriole by mid-to-late June.
