I still believe in Todd Heap… and if Oher means that Heap will actually be allowed to go out in pass-patterns, I think he will produce this year. Fact is, after mid-season when Flacco was finally allowed to throw towards the middle of the field… Heap’s numbers did improve. For all the talk about Heap’s inability to play hurt.. He has played all 16 games 5 times in his 8 year career, including 2008.
I like D. Williams, and I also believe in his ability.. But he has played in 16 games combined the last two seasons… I do not see how you can ‘rely’ on him.
Clayton upped his Yards per reception to over 17 in 2008… I think he is poised for a big 2009… and wish the Ravens were extending him now… still, at his best, he is a solid 2nd receiver.
Mason will be fine.
It is not that there are no weapons… and no potential… especially for 2009 by itself… it is that, you are building around Flacco long-term… and he needs weapons to grow with.
I just heard DeCosta on WNST saying that he expects Anderson, and Terry back this year…. Maybe that is just lip-service, but I am amazed by that.
I would love to know how much higher the Ravens valued Oher over Britton… and if the Ravens would have been able to trade back from 26th… allowing them to pick up Britton and another 2nd rd WR like Massaquoi.
There are other ways to attack pressure defenses besides having a strong line… you can spread the field with receivers (if you have them) and force the defense out of the box…
