Nothing particularly new here, but it is note-worthy that Nationally, the O’s are beginning to get some notice of the core being built.
If I were to gripe, it would be on his take of the pitching staff.
There are plenty of questions about the rotation for sure, but the possible answers are more attractive then he positions them.
I continue to think that Baez has little chance to make this team. The O’s are not going to make that known now, as they will give them ball a lot in ST, and hope to trade him… but if they can not trade him, they will cut him.
Baez was barely effective in 1 inning outings, he is not going to be effective as a starter. He is not going to raise his value in the pen, when you have Sherrill, Ray, and Johnson available to close.
Burres, Hennessey, Waters, Simon, Bass are non-options that should not come close to making the roster.
