Possible due to contract, or because they are out of options – Baez, Burres, Moore = 3
Fringe – Bass,Waters = 2
4 + 16 + 15 + 3 + 2 = 40
During the 2009 season you are going to want to add the following:
1) Wieters
2) Tillman
3) Arrieta
4) Erbe
5) Snyder
6) Rowell
7) 2009 1st Round pick
40 + 7 Roster additions = 47 Roster Spots
Subtract Spoone, who will be moved to the 60 Day DL, which does not count against the 40 Man Roster ( = 46 Roster Spots )
Subtract the Fringe of Bass,and Waters (=44 Roster Spots )
Subtract Baez, and Buress ( = 42 Roster Spots )
Subtract 2 of 4 out of Moore, Hoey, Perez and McCrory ( = 40 Roster Sports )
I can not see the logic of keeping Miller and Simon over Salazar.
