On the day they inducted Terrell Suggs into their Ring of Honor; the Baltimore Ravens sizzled in their 38-6 win over the Detroit Lions.
With the win, the Ravens improved to 5-2 on the season.
Detroit entered this week having won their last four games, each by 14 or more points.
The Ravens won the opening toss, and elected to receive.
Baltimore’s offense went down the field on their initial drive, ultimately punctuating the series with a 4th and Goal scamper from Lamar Jackson for the game’s first score.
It was an impressive showing for the Ravens, reestablishing what the ceiling is for this roster.

Quick Hits:
1) One of my early complaints of the season had been that it felt like the Ravens weren’t knocking out opponents when they had the opportunity to do so. Obviously that wasn’t the case today. It was 21-0 early in the 2nd Quarter, with the offense scoring at ease, and the defense starting out with three different 3 and outs vs. the Lions offense.
2) The Ravens offense put up 503 total yards, and held Detroit to 5 of 16 on 3rd down defensively.
3) Lamar was 21 of 27 for 357 yards, and 3 TD’s in the air. On the ground, he had 9 carries for 36 yards, and another score. He imposed his will on the Lions.
4) I thought the interior Offensive Line had a poor showing in London. Eye test said everyone up-front had a better outing today.
5) ODB had 7 targets. Andrews, and Flowers each had 6. 9 different Ravens had a reception. One of those receptions being Gus Edwards’ 80 yard scamper.
6) The Ravens entered this week leading the league in sacks, and added 5 more today. They aren’t able to just lineup and beat you with their front, but the Ravens have shown they capable of drawing up significant pressure. After getting a sack last week vs. the Titans, Kyle Van Noy added two more vs. the Lions. Odafe Oweh was active and had a sack.
7) Another pick for Geno Stone!

9) Have to love this quote from Roquan Smith:
Roquan Smith on his pregame message to the team: "I was just telling those guys it's our house at the end of the day. … I talked to team security. I told them, 'Lock the doors. We'll decide when we want to let them out.' I think we did that accordingly." #Ravens

10) At least on TV, it felt like an old-school Ravens crowd. Seats filled. Loud. That was good to see.
11) Really fun seeing the Ravens play a pretty clean game, and completely control the action vs. a quality team. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the Ravens today coming back from London. This was one of those weeks where everything clicked for the Ravens, and the Lions couldn’t do anything right. If you play this game 10 times, the Lions probably win their share. But those theoretical games aren’t being played. In the game that was actually played, the Ravens cleaned Detroit’s clock. It’s probably not realistic to be able to bottle up today’s performance and expect it weekly. But we’ve now seen the potential for this team. That this is what they are capable of.
Up-Next:
The Ravens head to the desert to face the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona is currently 1-5, and trailing Seattle in the 3rd Quarter.
ESPN”s Match-Up Predictor gives the Ravens a 80.9% chance of winning.
