As the College Basketball season nears, the predictions for the 2009-10 season are becoming more readily available from the National prognosticators.
During the Summer, I interviewed Mike DeCourcy of The Sporting News:

In that interview, Mr. DeCourcy stated he would have the Terps in his Preseason Top 25. When The Sporting News preview recently came out, he had the Terps ranked 20th overall.
Andy Katz, and ESPN had MD ranked 17th overall in their preview prior to the fall. I have not seen an update yet from the Worldwide leader.

So, while ESPN and The Sporting News have MD as 17th, and 20th respectively, there are differing opinions to be found.
Jeff Goodman from FoxSports says MD has the nation’s 13th best back-court, but ranks the Terps Top 40 overall.

Similar to that FoxSports ranking, Steve Megaree of Rivals.com has the Terps rated 45th Nationally.
