With the news this afternoon that Fabian Washington will miss the remainder of 2009 with a torn ACL, there was a corresponding knee-jerk reaction that the injury was of little significance to the Ravens.
That could not be further from the truth.
While I do believe Lardarius Webb is capable of stepping into a starting position, and maybe proving to be a superior CB, the loss of Washington will be felt.
If Webb is starting, he is obviously not available as the Nickle back against the multitude of AFC teams that want to spread the field and go 3 wide.
So, that means more playing time for Carr, and Walker.
The loss of Washington also comes on the heals of losing Nakamura from the Secondary the week before.
Washington might not be an elite corner, or have the physical skills to help out in the running game; but he does have outstanding speed, and good cover skills.
