As long speculated, University of Maryland Offensive Tackle Bruce Campbell is leaving College Park, to head to the NFL.
Without Campbell, the O-line depth looks like:
LT: Justin Gilbert
LG: Lamar Young, Maurice Hampton
C: Danny Edwards, Andrew Gonnella, Cody Blue
RG: Justin Lewis, Pete White, Bennett Fulper
RT: RJ Dill, Paul Pinegar, Nick Klemm
There is talent here, and if there was anything positive that occurred this previous season; it is that this group of players got some extended playing experience.
Hopefully a number of them will be ready to take the next-step. I am interested to hear about the development of Pete White between now, and the beginning of camp next Summer.

As I said in that blog, my biggest concern of implementing the option for the 2010 season, was/is the size of the MD offensive-line. If the O-line is designed for smaller, faster offensive lineman; do the Terps have a line capable of running that offense?
Losing Campbell might make it easier to implement the offense. That does make losing a 1st-round talent before the end of his collegiate eligibility ‘fun’, just means that the potential to get past it exists.
