With David Hernandez pitching 7 innings Friday night, it became apparent that the most likely candidates for promotion to the Orioles Tuesday were either Jason Berken, or Troy Patton.

Patton pitched 5 innings today for Bowie, allowing 7 hits, 3 er, 1 bb, with 6 k’s to move to 5-1.

This appears to pave the way for Jason Berken to make his Major League debut on Tuesday.

Berken 2009 AAA – 2-0, 1.05 era, 25.2 innings, 19 hits, 6 walks, 16 k’s
Berken 2008 AA – 12-4, 3.58 era, 145.2 innings, 141 hits, 38 walks, 125 k’s

If Uehara has to be placed on the DL, you would have to think Hernandez is the lead candidate to replace him.
