The O’s beat the Red Sox 9-8 today, behind the strength of 6 home-runs.
2nd baseman Justin Turner continues to turn-heads in Orioles camp, and did so today with 2 bombs.
Acquired from the Reds, in the Ramon Hernandez deal, this acquistion speaks to the benefit of adding Mr. Wayne Krivsky to the O’s Front-Office staff.
Nolan Reimold continues to lack a position with the O’s, until either Huff, or Scott leave the organization… but his HR today, is a reminder of the good spring he is having, and how he should be a viable option for promotion if the need arises.
Was also good to see Felix Pie get one out of the park today, as you want to see him get going and come into the season with confidence.
On the mound, the results were certainly mixed.
The disspointment of the day, was the poor outing from Liz:
2/3rds of an inning, 3hits, 3er, 1 bb, 1 k.
People need to remember to not over-react to that outing, and instead focus on the results he has provided at the AA, and AAA level… his age… and his stuff.
There is nothing to prove at the Minor League level for Liz… he needs innings, and time at the ML level… and in a year, where there are no expectations of contention… it is the perfect time for that opportunity.
Baez went 3.2 innings, 4hits, 2er, 1 bb, 1 k.
Albers went 2innings, 1 hit allowed, 1 k. Again, I do not see how the O’s are going to DL Albers as some propose, when he continues to getting innings and perform.
