I am disappointed by this news, and a bit surprised as it contradicts the messages Trembley sent all Winter.
Repeatedly Trembley said that he thought the best way to protect Albers’ arm was to have him start… which would save him from being up and down as a reliever, and pitching on regular rest.
I had doubts on if Albers could survive the season as a starter, with his limited K rates… but believed that as a former Texas League (AA) Pitcher of the Year, and former BA Top 100 prospect, that he deserved the opportunity.
This does not change my projections of a 12 man staff, nor the projection of who will comprise those 12 slots.
Guthrie, Uehara, Hill, Liz, Penn
Sherrill
Ray
Johnson
Hendrickson
Sarfate
Pauley
Albers
Pauley and Penn could certainly flip-flop… important outing today for Pauley.
