Frederick Keys’ OF Billy Rowell is showing signs of coming alive.

Rowell, who turns just 21 in September, is 13 for his last 37 (.351 avg) during the past 10 games.

This has raised his average to .282 overall, with a .771 OPS.

Two things you want to watch during the next month:

1) His plate discipline… right now he has 9 walks, and 18 k’s. During 2008, he had 36 walks, and 104 k’s. By the end of May, you would like to the current-ratio improve.

2) In 2008, Rowell had 31 XBH’s in 375 at-bats.. or 1 per 12 at-bats… in 2009, Rowell has 7 XBH’s in 71 at-bats.. or 1 per 10 at-bats…

While there is improvement over 2008, you want to see him start to hit a few homers…. currently he has 6 doubles, and 1 homer…
