Chicago gave up a number of draft picks to the Broncos to obtain Cutler, inclusive of the 18th pick… at 18, the Bears were widely seen as likely to choose a WR, with DHB the most likely candidate.
Michael Crabtree and Jeremy Maclin figure to be gone in the Top 10 picks… after that, there is no broad consensus on the 3rd best WR between DHB, Percy Harvin, and Hakeem Nix.
The Jets at 17, Minnesota at 22, and Miami at 25 could all take a WR ahead of the Ravens pick… However, the Jets figure to take QB Mark Sanchez if he is still on the board.. Minnesota is thought to prefer Harvin, and Miami is seen as more likely to take a defensive player.
My preference is DHB… not because he went to McDonough and MD… but because his combination of size and speed is the best available in this draft, and the perfect player to take advantage of Flacco’s arm to stretch the field.
That said, the bottom-line is the Ravens can stay exactly where they are, and between DHB, Harvin, and Nix add a weapon to the offense.
